Kowallabe Pendant ( The Outback Stone )
Description: If you have someone in your world with Australian heritage, this is the stone for them. Kowallabe ( heck, I just like pronouncing it ) is a uniquely Australian stone that exhibits a wide variety of colors and patterns. This pendant exhibits a reddish-orange with black inclusions that fades into a creamy white expanse. The effect is both dramatic and sublime at the same time. Topped with a sterling silver post bail, the more satin than glass-like polish, highlights a unique and beautiful stone. Pendant only price is $55, excluding any applicable tax. Free USPS Ground Advantage shipping. USPS Priority shipping costs $10.
Please note: Currently my store can only sell to customers within the United States and its territories.
Approximate Size: The top is 1/4” wide and the widest point is 5/8”. Height is 1 & 1/2”, not including the fitting. Thickness is 5/16”.
Care: This stone has a Mohs hardness of 5 to 6. It is fairly hard, but is bordering on the soft range. I would still treat it as a soft stone. This means you should store it where it will not rub up against other harder objects. Avoid things like placing it unprotected in the bottom of a purse, backpack or gym bag where something like loose change could scratch it. You also do not want to submerge it in water for any length of time, use an ultrasonic cleaner or use household chemicals to clean it. As usual, I would use a damp cotton cloth to clean it, let it air dry and then use a polishing cloth.
Folklore: Kowallabe is such a newly discovered stone that there really isn’t folklore developed yet. Because it is uniquely Australian, I’ll name it the Outback Stone. I’ll update this, if I find some relevant information.
Returns: Returns are allowed within 7 calendar days of receiving the stone jewelry. Customer must pay for return shipping. Stone jewelry must be in original condition with no damage. The refund will be processed once I receive the piece in original condition.
