Lapis Lazuli Pendant (The Stone of Royalty)
Description: Lapis Lazuli is one of those stones that seems impossible to exist naturally. It does and much of it, like this material, comes from Afghanistan. This triangular pendant shows off the royal blue nature of this material. Additionally, this pendant has pyrite inclusions that appear as gold colored flecks. There is also a hint of white calcite on one edge. Lapis Lazuli often occurs with layers of more intense calcite. You can see that on the backside of this pendant. That is not a fault. It just means the piece was cut correctly. This pendant is topped off with a patterned, gold plated, sterling silver pinch bail. The gold in the bail picks up on the pyrite inclusions. If you have a blue lover in your world, this may be the stone for them. Pendant only price is $87.50, excluding any applicable tax. Free USPS Ground Advantage shipping. USPS Priority shipping costs $10.
Please note: Currently my store can only sell to customers within the United States and its territories.
Approximate Size: The top is 1/8” wide and each sloped side is 1 & 1/4”. Height is 1”, not including the fitting. Bottom width is 1 & 5/8”. Thickness is 3/16”.
Care: This stone is at 5-5.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, which I still qualify as soft. This means you should store it where it will not rub up against other harder objects. Avoid things like placing it unprotected in the bottom of a purse, backpack or gym bag where something like loose change could scratch it. You also do not want to submerge it in water, use an ultrasonic cleaner or household chemicals to clean it. As usual, I would use a damp cotton cloth to clean it, let it air dry and then use a polishing cloth.
Folklore: Lapis Lazuli has long been known as an ancient stone of royalty. It is reported that this stone helped kings, queens, and even pharaohs tap into hidden knowledge and determine the course of action most beneficial to them. It is best known as the Royalty Stone.
Returns: Returns are allowed within 7 calendar days of receiving the stone jewelry. Customer must pay for return shipping. Stone jewelry must be in original condition with no damage. The refund will be processed once I receive the piece in original condition.
