Pietersite Pendant (The Stone of Transformation)
Description: This tapered pendant of Pietersite shows the gold metallic pattern that Pietersite is famous for. High quality versions of this material are hard to come by and typically are only available from Namibia and China. This slab was sourced from Namibia. The intricate nature of the pattern and the gold flash combine to make a stand-out piece. The picture with the quarter shows the pattern particularly well. Pendants made of this material typically have a glistening, jewel look, as does this piece. A sterling silver post fitting tops off the stone, while the almost glass-like polish complements the eye catching material. Pendant only price is $75, excluding any applicable tax. Free USPS Ground Advantage shipping. USPS Priority shipping costs $10.
Please note: Currently my store can only sell to customers within the United States and its territories.
Approximate Size: The top is 1/4” wide and the bottom is 3/4”. Height is 1 & 11/16”, not including the fitting. Thickness is 5/16”.
Care: This is a pretty hard stone (6.5-7 on the Mohs scale) and can be brittle. It will have fairly good scratch resistance but may show a tendency to crack and spall out under a sharp blow. I would recommend you not clean any pendant over a hard surface. A drop to a hard surface could be disastrous. Remember, I highly polish my pendants so they will be slippery to handle. Due to its hardness and polish, this stone can be submerged in water, but I wouldn’t for an extended period of time. I would still avoid using ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals. My recommendation for cleaning is using a damp cloth, followed by air drying, followed by using a polishing cloth.
Folklore: It is reported that Pietersite helps support one during times of substantial change. It bolsters willpower and inner strength allowing one to make adjustments and deal with situations in flux. Pietersite promotes personal change as necessary when facing life altering events. Pietersite is best known as the Stone of Transformation.
Returns: Returns are allowed within 7 calendar days of receiving the stone jewelry. Customer must pay for return shipping. Stone jewelry must be in original condition with no damage. The refund will be processed once I receive the piece in original condition.
